Constantin Walenta
Postdoctoral Fellow
Constantin obtained his doctorate degree in the group of Prof. Ueli Heiz at the Technical University of Munich (Catalysis Research Center). He investigated photocatalytic hydrogen evolution using sub-nanometer Pt clusters on semiconductors to disentangle photocatalytic from thermal reaction steps. He was co-advised by Prof. Martin Stutzmann (Walter-Schottky Institute, Technical University of Munich) in a collaborative project where he explored photochemical reactions of III-V semiconductor surfaces in relation to the semiconductor’s photophysical properties.
In the Friend Group, he examines semiconducting oxides for complex chemical surface reactions to determine the effect of single atom co-catalysts on surface (photo-)chemistry.
