Fang studied in situ dynamic surface transformations on Cu-based model catalysts under high pressure conditions in Brookhaven National Laboratory, and received Ph.D. in Chemistry in 2016.

She joined the Friend Group in May, 2016, and is currently investigating alcohol interacting with gold surfaces under ultra-high vacuum using scanning tunneling microscopy for the fundamental understanding of heterogeneous catalysis. Additionally, she is involved in the synchrotron light source experiments.
