I graduated in 1995 from Hubei University of Technology, with a bachelor degree in chemical engineering, and earned my master degree in organic chemical engineering at the University of Petroleum (Beijing) in 2001 in China. Afterwards, I went to the Institute of Physical Chemistry and Electrochemistry, University of Hannover, Germany and completed my Ph.D. education in Prof. R. Imbihl's group in 2005 with a doctor degree in natural science. In the end of 2003, I was staying in Prof. G. Comelli's group at the National Laboratory TASC-INFM, Italy as a visiting scientist for three months, and received the training in scanning tunneling microscope (STM). From November 2005, I work with Prof. R. J. Madix and Prof. C. M. Friend as a postdoctoral fellow at the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Harvard University in USA.
