Daphniglaucins

blocks_imageThe daphniglaucins are a diverse group of natural products isolated from the plant Daphniphyllum glaucescens. Daphniglaucin C contains structural features that are unique to this class of compounds, including a complex fused-ring system and an N-formyl functional group. Daphniglaucin C inhibits the growth of murine lymphoma L1210 cells and the polymerization of tubulin. We have made considerable progress toward the development of an efficient route to the natural product that would be amenable to creating a diverse series of analogs for evaluation in antiproliferative assays and for target identification studies.
